The Last of the Months

Although I've been saying, 'She's almost 2' for the last few months, this will officially be the last time I refer to Kalista as "           months old". I'm kind of sad over it too. It just means my little baby is growing up. I know there will be plenty more "last timers" but I just hope they don't happen all at once.

Sunday Family Day

On Sunday we decided to head up to Solvang and check out the scene. The drive was not too long to annoy the kids and not too short so you could feel like you were making a mini trip.

First stop, Cold Spring Tavern

Next was lunch in Solvang.

Salty pretzels with pale ale fondue and stout mustard.

Pulled pork sandwich. Messy but yummy!

After lunch we headed over to Seein' Spot Farms

for some apple picking and animal petting.

Then to finish off the hot afternoon we devoured some

yummy ice cream.

Soiree

Saturday we attended Sophia's preschool Soiree - a fun parent night out on the rooftop of the Canary Hotel. It was the perfect evening for drinks, auction bidding, dinner, music and karaoke. I am totally looking forward to the party book auction items we scored! I'm sure those blog posts will be appearing in the near future. : )

Freaky Friday

On Friday we took the kids to the annual Boo at the Zoo. This was our first year attending and Sophia was super excited. The zoo was decked out in Halloween spirit and there was a lot of trick-or-treating conquered that evening.

Pumpkins in the Patch

Along with the rest of Santa Barbara, we took a little trip to the local pumpkin patch this weekend. It was fun to watch the girls scurry through the patch. Wished it was a little cooler instead of the 80 degree afternoon. I mean it is October, right? I know, I know . . . The grass is always greener. : )

What is it with kids and water? The girls pumped water from this trough over and over and over.

Nothing like a good 'ol hay ride!

Off to the corn field maze! I opted to stay out. This maze has been known to keep

people busy for at least 1/2 an hour or more. No thank you!
