Kalista - 6 Months

Today we celebrated Kalista's 6 month birthday. Sophia looks forward to these monthly birthdays since there are usually treats involved. And since Kalista is still too young to enjoy a little sweet indulgence...Sophia scores! But today was a special monthly birthday because Kalista got to enjoy her first meal other than milk...Rice Cereal! Yum!
Happy 6 Months to Me!
"Get ready baby!"
"Here you go!"
"You like it?"

Summertime

Well I think summer is definitely making an appearance in Santa Barbara, until June Gloom hits. We fired-up our pool and made it a nice 85 degrees so the kids can enjoy it, as well as Mommy & Daddy.
Here goes nothing!

Roomies

We have been putting off having the girls sleep in the same room in fear they would no longer be our great little sleepers. But the other night we decided, "What the heck!" let's give it a whirl. Sophia was very excited to have her little sister in the same room. And I'm sure Kalista felt the same way...afterall this meant she would get out of the playroom and have a real "bed."
Ready for lights out!
I checked in on the girls later that night.
They looked cozy to me!

In Good Hands

Sophia & Kalista had a chance to spend some quality time with Grandma & Grandpa while we were in Cancun. Sophia had a few rough moments through the week, mainly when she woke up. Sophia told Grandpa, "Find my mommy and daddy." At one point she even told Grandma & Grandpa to go back to Fresno. But Grandpa played out her hand nicely by telling her okay he and Grandma would leave. Sophia quickly changed her tune! Smart cookie to realize if they left, she would be on her own. And as for Kalista...she was an angel as usual!
One way to Sophia's heart...swing!
Whoaaa!

Such a doll!
On the way to school

Viva La Cancun!

This past week, David & I were in Cancun...sans kiddos! And although the weather was on again off again as far as the rain...we had a very relaxing time. Sophia & Kalista were well taken care of by Grandma and Grandpa.

Yellow Bird

Tuesday mornings are a highlight of our week. Sophia loves Yellow Bird and absolutely adores Alex.
Gone fishing
"Oh well weeeee drum and we drum and we drum
and we stop."
We love you Alex!

A Little White Lie

Anyone with kids knows how hard it can be for them to be entertained while enduring long car rides. Sophia never liked to watch tv or dvds, but this has changed within the last 6 months or so - thank goodness! Therefore the DVD player in the car has become a wonderful form of entertainment. But with that being said, David & I don't necessarily want to listen to what Sophia is watching. Soooo, we told her the DVD doesn't work without the headphones. At first she didn't believe us, but when she took off the earphones...NO SOUND. It's just a little white lie :)
