4 Month Check-Up

This morning I took Kalista to the doctor for her 4 month check-up. I think she did pretty good at least compared to her doctor who hobbled in on crutches (skiing accident). Here are the stats:
Height = 23 inches
Weight = 12 pounds 10 ounces
At this age, Sophia was 24 inches and 14 pounds 4 ounces.
Before her physical. Poor thing has no idea what's to come!
During her physical. So far, so good!
Right after her shots. Ouch!
Ready to get the heck out of there!

Kalista Turns 4 Months

Today is Kalista's 4 month birthday. Her milestones include laughing, rolling over both ways, grabbing for toys and being so darn cute! She's still a great sleeper too (three 1 1/2 naps and 11 hours of bedtime sleep).
Always smiling!
Can't wait to play like the Big Kids!

The 4 Year Old

My niece, Caroline, is a funny, whitty, chatty and spunky 4 year old. Watching her makes me anxious and excited to see my girls grow older...but not too fast!
Wonder what she's thinking?
Caroline loves puzzles. Look at this 150 piece puzzle
she put together!
Beautiful!

Happiness

Sophia was especially happy tonight because her little Chocolate Cake (Kalista) was home. What better way to show some love than to sport matching jammies!

Fun for Everyone

Last Thursday, Kalista and I headed up north to visit family & friends. What an easy 4 hour drive! Kalista played and slept the entire way without a fuss. Then on Friday, I left Kalista and went to visit my best friend, Anne, in Sacramento. Back home in Santa Barbara, Daddy & Sophia were sharing some quality father-daughter time. All in all, I think everyone had a great extended weekend.

Harry's

Last night a few moms from my PEP group met at Harry's for a much deserved cocktail. What?! On a Sunday night?! Why yes! What better way to start the work week? What I am saying? There is no beginning or end of a work week when you have kids!
Cheers to Mom's Night Out

Oh Baby!

This morning my PEP group met at La Mesa Park for our weekly get together. It was such a beautiful day and all the little ones looked adorable. I dismissed the idea of dressing Kalista in all green - I don't think it's a great color for my kids or me. Accents of green are okay, but not as the main attraction. I know, I know how ridiculous. Nonetheless, it was a fun outing!
See Kalista in the middle? I think she was looking for me.
"Ah, there's my mommy!"
Cute outfit, huh? Well it was until later that afternoon.
 Can you say, "BLOWOUT!"

Snap! Crackle! Pop!

This morning Sophia and I decided to make some good 'ol fashion Rice Krispie Treats. Okay maybe I decided and Sophia followed along. And yes, I know it's not a very gourmet dessert but I think it's a must for a child to experience these ooey, gooey treats. I just can't believe they sell them pre-packaged - YUCK! I mean really, how hard is it to melt some butter and marshmallows and toss in some cereal?!
Waiting for the butter to melt

Oh so gooey and yummy!

Princess

Today was Princess Day at the zoo. I'm not sure who was looking forward to this day more, Sophia or Mommy - since one got to dress up and the other got to spend the whole day with her princess. Sophia had the best time with her friends, Waverly & Amelyse.

100 Days

Yesterday Kalista turned 100 days old. I know, what's the big deal about turning 100 days old, right? Well when Sophia was born my parents made sure to remind a few times to take a picture of her when she turned 100 days old. My dad explained that way back when, in Korea, it was considered somewhat of a milestone if a baby made it to 100 days of life. So in keeping with the "tradition" I snapped a few shots of Kalista for her 100 day marker. Below is a comparison of the two girls.

Water Conservationist

Bath time with Sophia looks quite silly. Sophia insists on taking her baths in the same tub she's taken baths in since she was a baby; the same tub her sister takes her baths in. I think she would have more fun with a big tub full of water and bubbles, but she has a different opinion. So, I guess I should just look at it as conserving water.

3 Months

Time really does fly. Our little Kalista is already 3 months old. She is such a happy girl! Milestones: Smiling, rolling over from front to back, sleeping from 8 pm to 7 am. We are so blessed!
