Concerts in the Park

During the summer months the city of SB puts on a series of Concerts in the Park. It's a great venue held every Thursday down by the beach. The perfect way to end the day with food, family, friends, music and lots of dancing. Here are some pics from the last 2 Thursdays.

The Internet - A Mom's BFF

I enjoy finding a good bargain. Who doesn't, right? I really enjoy it more when I don't have to leave the house. Ah yes, "Thank you my dear friend, Internet." Here's a tip too for those who hate paying outrageous shipping prices, I Google discount and/or free shipping codes. I seem to always score!

I love the variety internet shopping has to offer. This is especially nice when shopping for the girls. Santa Barbara is a very small city and it is not uncommon to run into about 10 other girls with the same cute outfit. Now don't get me wrong. Obviously the fashion world made more than one outfit to sell. But sometimes it's nice having a little uniqueness within the wardrobe. Just sayin'. : )

My latest favorite website is One Kings Lane.
I love these faceted amici bottles.
Perfect for infusing your own cocktails.
A unique display for the wine enthusiast.
I bet you they would sell even more if a bottle was included. : )

Cupcake Camp Santa Barbara

Sunday was the Cupcake Camp Santa Barbara event I posted about last week. What an amazing and delicious fundraiser. Hard to believe this was all started a few years ago by a then little 13 year old girl, Blake Colvin. When you have a moment, you should read about Cupcakes for Cancer. And when you do, I hope you support Blake's vision and motto:
Children making a sweet difference one crumb at a time.
So many to choose from!
Maybe one of each?
See the pink cupcakes on top? I let Sophia have her very first piece of gum.
This was a a BIG DEAL : )
You can never go wrong with a Whodelicious Cupcake!

Chocolate Delight

I made some incredibly rich and delightful cookies the other day. Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies. Compliments of Savory Sweet Life. Thank goodness I like to workout, especially since I made these last week.

And dear hubby, if you are reading this post,

I won't be telling you how long these lasted. Just know I did not eat them all by myself. In one sitting.
But I will be running for the next couple of days...maybe three days ; )

The Whodelicious Princesses

It all started with a fun game Whodelicious posted on their Facebook wall about a month ago. The first 10 people to come in the shop and say, "What's up Doc?" would get a free cupcake. Well that's simple! After I picked Sophia up from school we headed on over for an after school snack. Sophia said the magic phrase and voila! She won a cupcake of her choice. She was thrilled! Oh the joy a cupcake can bring. Sophia loves playing their games. Yes that's right, she's played before.

Anyway I posted Sophia's picture on Facebook and I received an email from Whodelicious inviting Sophia and any of her friends to strut the catwalk at Cupcake Camp Santa Barbara an event presented by Cupcakes for Cancer for the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation. The girls will get to dress up in the shop's princess outfits and hopefully, grace the runway. This is going to be a fun and delicious day!

So what are you doing on Sunday July 24th from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm?
Come to the Fess Parker. Cheer on Sophia and her friends (runway time will be 2:00 pm). Indulge in cupcakes ($10 entry fee = 4 cupcake tastings, milk or coffee). Try and win some raffle prizes. Have the kids decorate a cupcake. Dare your hubby or that person you made a weight loss bet with to enter the cupcake eating contest. Support a very worthy cause.
Tasting the goods in the party room.
Every little girl's chandelier dream.
I think Sadie's got the look down!
I'm thinking this look would go well in the playroom.
See you Sunday!
